Here in the U.S., many of us have let fear of the other cause us to forget that other humans are equally human–all human hearts are the same. The legal and political chains that hold refugees bound to camps and war-torn countries are created by the same chains of fear that bind us. If we all want to be free, we need to see ourselves in others with love and hope.
